Rescue Award

Presented to students and teachers who have used any of the skills learned in the CPR program. For example:

  • Recognizing signs of a heart attack or stroke; calling 911; administering CPR; performing the obstructed airway manoeuvre; using an AED; helping at the scene of an emergency. Regardless of the outcome, we still like to honour students and teachers for reacting in an emergency.

Leadership ACTion Award

Presented to students who demonstrate leadership in the CPR program. For example:

  • Helping to teach CPR in the classroom; participating on a school emergency response team; teaching CPR to family and friends; promoting the importance of CPR and AED training.

Hands of ACTion Award

Presented to students who provide general classroom help to teachers. For example:

  • Cleaning mannequins and/or helping with classroom set up/take down.

Rescue Stories

Youth and teachers who have been trained through the ACT High School CPR and AED Program are stepping forward and using their lifesaving skills in a wide range of emergencies involving family, friends, and strangers. Many lives are being saved.
